"SVAFF 2022 presents a full menu of 102 feature and short length narrative, documentary, and animation films from 33 countries. Festival highlights include a VIP/Red Carpet opening night reception, film screenings, parade of flags of all countries in the festival, libation ceremony, live African music and dance performances, African marketplace, fashion show, food, dialogue with filmmakers in attendance, panel discussions, community forums, awards, and more.

Aptly themed “Africa through African lenses", SVAFF presents authentic stories by Africa's seasoned and emerging filmmakers and, crucially provides audiences with exquisite lenses to the real Africa and its diaspora. From Morocco to Mozambique, Ghana to Uganda, Nigeria to Namibia, Senegal to South Africa, United States to Brazil, Australia to United Kingdom, the diversity of voices represented in our 2022 selections will engage, delight, inspire, provoke and challenge our audience. The Silicon Valley African Film Festival promotes an understanding and appreciation of Africa and Africans through moving images.
